Dear Senator Dr. Leonhard,
Dear Dr. Schrittmacher,
dear ladies and gentlemen,

Laying a foundation stone is a very beautiful event. Because the foundation stone is a sign of a new beginning. That is exactly what is happening here.

We have come together today to lay the foundation stone for the tecHHub. ADK Modulraum is constructing this innovative building as general contractor for the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The tecHHub will be an innovation center for young tech companies and will serve the acute need for laboratory, and office space.

ADK Modulraum specializes in the construction of complex and innovative buildings for the life science and health care sector. Therefore, we are very pleased to contribute to the strengthening of the highly innovative and efficient research and business structure in the Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld.

The building will have a size of about 5500 sqm gross floor area and is prefabricated from 119 modules, of which you can already see the first 2 modules here today. The central advantage of the modular construction method is the speed thanks to a high degree of prefabrication. The first section of the building, which you do not see here today, has already been completed to a large extent in the factory and will now be assembled here in the next few weeks. The special feature on this building will be a high-quality wooden facade with facade greening.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the client, the Hanseatic City of Hamburg, represented by HIE, for the constructive cooperation so far. This thanks also goes expressly to all other parties involved who have contributed to the success of this building. A heartfelt thank you to all of them!

Completion of this building is scheduled for early 2024, and the progress of construction so far leaves no doubt that we will get there. And so, dear guests, we associate all our joy at the new possibilities with this foundation stone. May it also be a symbol of our good wishes for a smooth construction process that is safe and accident-free for all involved!"
